Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Although this cancer is much more common among women, breast cancer affects men as well. The survival rate varies and that is why it is so important for women over 50 to get mammograms and for people of all ages to do self examinations. Early detection is important – More than 80% of breast cancers are discovered when a woman feels an abnormal lump. It is also important to exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet to boost your immune system and lower estrogen levels in the body.
